shul – a work in progress

public intervention

hypertufa bricks

By the autumn of 2013, it had been two years since I first noticed the sharp divide between St Louis city and county on a stretch of road near my apartment.  On the county side, the road was in better condition, but the sidewalk came to an abrupt end. A worn path in the grass marked that many people, in addition to myself, make use of this corner during their commute. I decided to make bricks and place them on-site, creating a small gesture of care where the county has neglected its car-free residents.
